Arocs at a glance
The Arocs for construction transport with a gross weight rating of 32 tonnes and over has ample power to cope with any driving situation. The construction range is equipped with robust, proven Euro III engines, with Mercedes PowerShift 3 automatic transmissions and with a unique suspension and frame design.
Reliability
There’s no substitute for reliability. A truck only earns money when it is up and running. As such, the prime requirement in the ever tougher construction business is for trucks that can be counted on to operate reliably. With particularly durable drive components, the Mercedes-Benz Trucks range is a shining example of how this is done.
During the construction of our trucks, we always use the strictest quality standards: Real-life requirements. Or in short: Your requirements. For us, this means providing you with trucks that operate without a hitch, even in extreme conditions and in difficult terrain. With leading Mercedes-Benz vehicle technology and components tested under the toughest conditions. This applies to engines, transmissions and drive axles as well as frames, chassis, suspension and cabs. In other words: “Trucks you can trust”.
Robustness
Robust down to the last detail. From off-highway applications to concrete mixers and heavy-duty tippers, the on-road, off-road and all-wheel drive variants of the Arocs offer a particularly tough and robust vehicle to meet any challenge in construction site haulage.
The robustness and load-bearing capacity of the Arocs are fully reflected in the cabs – in the durable cab shell consisting of 100 % fully galvanised sheet metal and in the athletic, powerful design. And to take the dread out of large approach/departure angles and ramp breakover angles, we have additionally provided the Arocs with optimised ground clearance. As you can see, the Arocs is up to any challenge.
Body Builder Friendliness
Modular Layout of the Chassis.
The modular Layout of the chassis allows for easier body mounting. Mounting elements are systematically oriented towards the respective add-on equipment, the chassis of the New Arocs has a consistent hole pattern of 50 mm with easy access to electrical and pneumatic attachments.
Off-Road Drive Program
The off-road drive program offers the driving modes A (standard), A (economy), A (off-road) and manual and is optimised for the special requirements of construction-site traffic. It supports economic driving styles just as much as improved handling when pulling away or maneuvering on building sites or when driving slowly along bad roads.
When the ignition is switched on, the last mode selected is set automatically upon starting. The drive program is only activated upon request by the driver using the right-hand steering column lever. In the off-road driving mode, EcoRoll and the crawler function are deactivated. Deceleration upshifts are not possible.
Body Mounting Brackets
Specific body fitment requirement are again taken care of by supplying the correct mounting brackets ex-works. For example the 3336K is fitted with dedicated tipper mounting brackets and the 3236B, body mounting brackets specific to concrete mixers.
The benefit to you, the customer, is the same: Faster turnaround time at body builders.
Electronic Parking Brake
The electronic parking brake replaces the previous parking brake. For even more comfort and safety, the brake is automatically released or applied in certain situations. It is activated automatically on switching off the engine, but can also be switched on and off using the lever in the cockpit.
The integrated HOLD function is activated when the vehicle is at a standstill simply by pressing the brake pedal more firmly, for example at a red traffic light or on an uphill gradient. It is released as soon as the accelerator is pressed again. This avoids the danger of the vehicle rolling back when moving off on an uphill gradient.
